Pawparazzi Pet Services Terms of Service & Business Policies

1. VIP Client Program: Pawparazzi Pet Services has a structured business model which has been carefully planned out to benefit everyone: the beloved pet, the adoring owner, and the professional groomer.  We carefully cultivate a short list of VIP Clients which are selected based on grooming requirements and level of commitment.  We manage a detailed and precise schedule that supports our clients on a regular rotation (every 4-8 weeks).  Our clients always have an appointment lined-up on our grooming calendar, they pay the lowest maintenance fee for their beloved pet instead of higher chaos/emergency grooming prices.  The pet benefits from a regular schedule - the coat is in better condition when maintained on a tight schedule, therefore the grooming appointment takes less time and the fee is much lower.  Of course, the pet seeing their familiar groomer every 4-8 weeks helps to build trust and comfort, which means less stress on the pet.  Pawparazzi rarely accepts new clients, and whether we will groom your pet depends on breed and temperament, as well as your commitment to your pet's care in-between grooming sessions.  Do you brush your pet regularly at home?  Do you practice handling the feet and ears?  Does your pet stand patiently while you care for them?  Working on these factors at home greatly increases your pet's success at any grooming salon or veterinarian office. Responsible pet owners make their pet's health a priority and take steps to ensure their pet's anxiety and discomfort are considered in any situation.  We only deal with responsible owners, and we believe our VIP Client Program benefits everyone, but most importantly: the well-being and health of the pet.  Clients who miss regular grooming appointments / no show will lose their VIP standing and be bumped to the Applications list, awaiting the next available booking and paying walk-in rates.

2. Current Vaccinations / Veterinarian Information: By using services at Pawparazzi Pet Services, owners verify their pet(s) is current on rabies, distemper, and Parvo-Virus vaccinations, and/or their cat(s) are current on basic feline vaccinations (FVRCP). Proof of vaccination or current Titer testing shall be provided to Pawparazzi Pet Services upon request, as well as current veterinarian contact information. Special circumstances will be taken into consideration.

3. Aggressive or dangerous pets: Owners must inform Pawparazzi Pet Services if their pet(s) bites, has bitten, or is aggressive to people, other pets, or reactive to specific grooming procedures. Muzzles/astronaut helmets may be used if necessary. Muzzling will not harm your pet and protects both the pet and the groomer. If the temperament is unknown (or biting potential is known but not warned) Pawparazzi Pet Services reserves the right to refuse/stop service for a dangerous pet at any time before or during the grooming process, and charge an aggressive pet fee, in addition to the regular grooming charge.

4. Health or Medical Problems & Senior Pets: Grooming procedures can be stressful, especially for a senior pet, or any pet with health problems. These procedures can expose hidden or aggravate known medical problems, during or after the groom. Because senior pets with health problems have a greater chance of injury these pets will ONLY be groomed for cleanliness and comfort, and the style that will not add to their stress. In the interest of your pet’s health and safety, this agreement will give Pawparazzi Pet Services permission to obtain immediate veterinary treatment in the case of an emergency should it be deemed necessary by Pawparazzi Pet Services. We will do our best to contact you first, then take your pet to your authorized veterinarian or to the nearest available veterinarian. It is agreed that all expenses for veterinary care will be covered by the pet’s owner upon signing this agreement.

5. Mat Removal: Pets with matted coats need extra attention during their grooming session. Mats left in an animal's coat will only grow tighter and can strangle the skin or eventually tear it open. Pawparazzi Pet Services does not wish to cause serious or undue stress to your pet – we will not continually de-mat your pet. We believe in health & comfort over vanity. Mats can be very difficult and uncomfortable to remove and may require the pet to be shaved. When necessary, removing a heavily matted coat includes risks of nicks, cuts or abrasions due to warts, moles or skin folds trapped in the mats. Heavy matting can also trap pests such as fleas, or moisture and urine near the pet's skin allowing mold, fungus or bacteria to grow, causing skin irritations that existed prior to the grooming process. Torn skin and injuries caused by mats can also harbor maggots.

When we choose to perform de-matting, we charge $60 per hour on top of the regular grooming rate. After-effects of mat removal procedures can include itchiness, skin redness, self-inflicted irritations or abrasions and failure of the hair to regrow. Shaved pets are also prone to sunburn and should either have sunscreen applied daily or should be kept out of the sun until their hair regrows sufficiently to protect the skin. In some cases, pets can also exhibit brief behavioral changes. Prevention is the best defense against matting; therefore, brush your pet regularly and schedule regular grooming appointments. We will do our best to remove small mats but not at the expense of your pet experiencing pain or discomfort. Therefore, a severely matted pet may not have a grooming outcome you would desire.

6. Parasites: Parasites may include fleas, ticks, lice, and other infestations. Pawparazzi Pet Services does not offer flea treatments. If you suspect your pet has fleas, prompt and thorough action is needed, because a flea infestation can lead to other health problems. If surprise fleas are found during the grooming process, you will be charged an additional FLEA FEE of $50 to cover the cost of salon fumigation; Pawparazzi Pet Services will only use Zodiac pesticide spray on your pet to treat fleas with your consent and awareness. If you do not consent to Flea Treatment, you will be asked to pick up your pet immediately. Any ticks found will be removed for an additional charge. If ticks are found, we strongly suggest that you have your pet tested for Lyme disease. Parasites are a health hazard to your pet, as well as to humans.

7. Hold Harmless Agreement: There is always the possibility an accident could occur. Grooming equipment is sharp. Even though we use extreme caution and care in all situations, possible problems could occur, including cuts, nicks, and scratches. In most cases, this can happen when a pet is wiggling or moving around. Every effort will be made to ensure your pet is groomed as safely as possible, but an excited pet can be dangerous to continue to work on. We reserve the right to end the grooming session, even if the groom is not completed.  By signing this agreement you (or your Agent) agree to hold Pawparazzi Pet Services, its owners, franchise owners, affiliates, operators, employees, officers, and directors harmless from any damage, liabilities, financial, and otherwise, loss or claim including but not limited to veterinarian bills arising from any condition of the listed pet(s), either known or unknown, to Pawparazzi Pet Services or any other property of the Customer, which arise in any way from services and/or products provided by or as a consequence of customers association with Pawparazzi Pet Services. It is also further understood and agreed that the terms of this agreement can change at any time, without notice, and will override any and all prior signed contracts or releases. It is further understood that this clause appeals to any and all pets groomed at Pawparazzi Pet Services.

8. Photography Consent: I hereby consent my pet(s) and/or me to be photographed and I AUTHORIZE Pawparazzi Pet Services it's employees, agents, or authorized representatives to use, reproduce, publish, transmit, distribute, and display the said photograph(s) in Pawparazzi Pet Services display, advertisement, website, or other material for promotional purposes. 9. Late Pick-Ups & Abandonment:  When your pet’s grooming appointment is complete and you have been notified, you are expected to pick up the pet and pay for the grooming services (same day) in a reasonable time frame - ideally within 30 minutes. We are not a boarding facility and cannot board animals overnight.  If your pet is not picked up by closing for the day, an additional $60 kennel charge will apply. Subsequent days will be charged at $100.00/day, plus food, medicine, or other necessities. Fees for late pick-up during holidays or non-business days will be charged double. Full payment of all charges are due at the time of pickup. Pawparazzi Pet Services has the right to place the pet in a temporary boarding facility, foster home, or other off-site location at an additional expense. Any animal not picked up within 24 hours (without any contact) will be considered abandoned and reported to Taber Bylaw Services and turned over to local animal control. Such abandonment will constitute relinquishment of all rights and claims by owner.

10. No Shows & Cancellations: No Shows and last-minute cancellations are subject to a $20.00 FEE PER PET, which will be added to your next visit. Prepayment for same will be required before another appointment is booked. We understand there may be emergency situations and we will work with you, but not on a continued basis. Please be respectful of our time as we are a by-appointment business, and another client could have taken your appointment if we had known.

11. Payment Policy: Services may be paid with cash or debit/credit. All fees must be paid in full before the next service appointment will be scheduled.
